【Surat Thani, Thailand – July 15, 2026】In line with the commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and fostering a vision of mutual prosperity with the local community, SMGE hosted a public community hearing at our facility. During the event, company representatives presented SMGE’s sustainability philosophy, biochar technology applications, rigorous operational safeguards, and relevant laboratory test results to community leaders and local residents, demonstrating our dedicated, responsible approach to deep-rooted community engagement and agricultural waste recycling.
SMGE is a green enterprise dedicated to producing high-quality biochar from agricultural waste. At the hearing, SMGE emphasized our exclusive use of locally sourced agricultural waste from Surat Thani Province. By converting these residues into biochar, SMGE not only mitigates smoke and dust from open burning but also creates local jobs and drives economic growth, advancing our mission to elevate agricultural waste into community-focused value.
SMGE also highlighted the diverse agricultural benefits of biochar to attending residents. Featuring a highly porous structure, biochar significantly enhances the soil’s water and nutrient retention capacities. This reduces the need for irrigation and chemical fertilizers, providing a sustainable, eco-friendly solution for local agricultural transformation.
In terms of production, SMGE implements stringent quality control across all five stages of the manufacturing process: feeding, pyrolysis, cooling, spraying, and packaging. Testing data from the laboratory at Prince of Songkla University in Thailand confirms that SMGE’s biochar possesses a high total organic carbon (TOC) content with zero heavy metals detected, proving our high safety standards and premium quality.
Furthermore, SMGE actively conducts community-level trials. We provided biochar to neighboring shrimp farmers for water purification testing. Follow-up results demonstrated that the biochar effectively reduced nitrite and ammonia levels in the ponds, leading to marked improvements in water quality and showcasing biochar’s versatile potential in water resource management.
To address environmental concerns raised by residents, we outlined the comprehensive mitigation mechanisms covering air quality, noise control, wastewater management, and transportation logistics. We’ve also established multiple feedback channels, including official email, phone , and a LINE account to foster ongoing and transparent communication, ensuring residents’ voices are continually heard and addressed.
