【Surat Thani, Thailand – June 15, 2026】 Siam Modern Green Energy (SMGE) celebrated the grand opening of our new manufacturing plant in Surat Thani, Thailand, on June 15. Utilizing local agricultural waste as raw materials to produce high-quality biochar and certified carbon removal credits, the plant is set to establish a localized biochar industrial chain while generating sustainable employment opportunities for the community.
The opening ceremony was attended by a distinguished lineup of guests, including Mr. Tseng, Director of the Economic Division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand, alongside local Thai regulatory authorities. Key partners and representatives also graced the event, including delegates from Siam Modern Palm (Thailand), Green Jump(Taiwan), Kangsi Energy (Taiwan), Sawa Ecosolutions Inc., as well as prominent partners from Malaysia and Cambodia, all gathering to witness this major milestone.

The opening featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a traditional lion dance performance, and guided factory tours, showcasing SMGE’s firm commitment and vision toward establishing robust biochar production lines and advancing carbon removal technologies.
Mr. Carl Chiu, Chairman of SMGE, noted that establishing the production base in Surat Thani not only helps create local jobs and boost regional tax revenues, but also enhances farmers’ income. Furthermore, it promotes the circular utilization of agricultural resources, bringing positive, long-term economic and environmental benefits to the region.

How SMGE Drives Carbon Removal:
SMGE is dedicated to transforming agricultural waste into premium biochar through meticulous screening, crushing, and drying processes. By utilizing advanced pyrolysis equipment and technology, the carbon dioxide that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere is converted into stable, long-term carbon sequestration. This achieves tangible carbon removal goals, offering a concrete and scalable solution for the global transition to Net Zero.
Moving forward, SMGE will continue to deepen our collaboration with local farmers and partners while expanding our international cooperation network. Together, we aim to drive the circular economy and sustainable development, co-creating a more resilient, low-carbon future.
